How long does it take to become a Strength & Conditioning coach in Ireland?

The Image Fitness Training S&C programme runs for 12 weeks of blended study — live online theory midweek combined with practical weekends at one of our seven venues. Most students continue working full-time alongside the course. Assessments are completed within the 12-week window, so you can be a fully certified, REPs-registered S&C coach within three months of starting.

Is the Strength & Conditioning course accredited in Ireland?

Yes. The course is REPs Ireland accredited and EQF Level 4 certified. EQF Level 4 is the Europe-wide framework benchmark, which means the qualification is recognised by gyms, sports clubs and performance facilities across Ireland, the UK and the EU. The credential is awarded by Image Fitness Training and listed on the REPs Ireland register on completion.

Practical weekends run at six current Irish venues — Swords, Tallaght, Cork, Galway (HQ Gym in Tuam), Limerick and Wexford — with Derry / L'Derry (Gateway Studio) launching September 2026 as the seventh. Theory is delivered live online, so students from outside those cities can join the cohort and only travel for the practical assessment weekends.

What are the entry requirements for the S&C course?

You need to be a qualified Personal Trainer (REPs Ireland Level 3 / EQF Level 3) or hold an equivalent fitness qualification before enrolling. No degree is required. If you're not yet PT-qualified, we recommend starting on the Personal Trainer Course Ireland pathway and stacking the S&C certification on top — most career-track students take this combined route.
